Port Jervis to close portion of Route 6 (East Main St.) for culvert replacement
July 29, 2019 - Port Jervis, NY - The City of Port Jervis has announced a weekend road closure of a portion Route 6 (East Main Street) with a detour for all traffic beginning Friday August 2nd, 6:00pm, THROUGH Tuesday, August 6th, 6:00am.
Businesses in the construction corridor remain OPEN.
Customers will have access to drive to ALL of the businesses impacted. Please plan your travel accordingly.
As with all public works projects, I encourage all citizens to shop local and support the following business who are located in the construction zone.

2019 Jul 29 - PLEASE PASS THIS MESSAGE TO OTHERS...
Be advise that a road closure for one of the two East Main St culvert replacements is scheduled to begin this Friday the 2nd of August at 6pm and will reopen on Tuesday the 6th of August at 6am.
Detours signage will be in place along the detour to direct motorists in the correct direction.
Local Business Open signs will be installed later this week along the detour route. Traffic WILL be able to go to all of the businesses (Rich’s Army Surplus, Tom and Arlene’s, Quick’s Welding, Easy Way Beverage, Dunkin Donuts, and Delaware River Spa) but will have to go back out the way they entered.
An additional message board may be used in case it is needed to help with detouring tractor trailers.
As we all know the current weather conditions are unpredictable so a final decision will be made on Wednesday the 31st of July at noon if changes are needed with regards to the closure.
